Self Care?!? We all could use some self care! Some find it very difficult to create some time for themselves while it may come easy to others. We grow up learning that it is important to eat our fruits and vegetables, to be active and take time for rest but somewhere along the way life gets complicated and self care can be put on the back burner. Self care may look different for everyone but today I have narrowed down my self care beauty tips that will give you some guidance on things that you can incorporate daily or even weekly. They are all pretty easy and are a great way to be kind and love yourself just a little bit more!
It is so important that we focus on our sleep when it comes to our beauty routine. A minimum of 7 hours of sleep per night is needed to promote optimal health allowing your body to repair itself. Nowadays, that may be more than your current sleep time thanks to social media scrolling or Netflix binge watching. When the body is at rest it gives the skin the opportunity to produce collagen because the cells are regenerating. Which means you will have less puffiness and less wrinkles thanks to sleep. I like using essential oils in my diffuser as part of my night time routine that help me relax and unwind such as Cedarwood and Adaptiv.
Daily movement can help your mind by boosting your mood! When you are in a better mood you feel better. Take 30 minutes each day for yourself to do some type of movement – whether it is going for a walk or an at home workout like pilates or yoga which will not stress out your adrenals but release endorphins to fight off stress and make you feel good!
Dry brushing is a great way to get the lymphatic system moving and helping the body releases toxins. In addition, it removes dry skin on the body. This is a such a great tool to use during the cooler months as our skin can become dry and flaky. If you are looking for more energy then dry brushing is a great self care beauty treatment because it will help increase the oxygen to the extremities of the body and stimulate the blood flow.
Incorporating facial rolling into your daily regimen is a great way to help reduce puffiness on the face, lift and tone the skin as well as giving you some quality me time! The rose quartz roller is one of my fave tools for my self care beauty regimen because it gives me the opportunity to focus on myself and at the same time my skincare products absorb better into my skin.
We need water to function properly because proper hydration is so important to our health. The benefits of having enough hydration and drinking plenty of water every day is your skin will thank you! Water flushes toxins out of the body and increases your blood flow. If you are dehydrated it can make you feel tired both physically and mentally resulting in not being proactive with your self care beauty routine. I like to drink half my body weight in ounces of water per day.
There is nothing more powerful than using a pure essential oil in your self care beauty routine! Take some time out to create your own skincare and body treatments that will help your skin feel lush and taken care of. Doing this is a great way to minimize your exposure to toxic chemicals that are found in so many cosmetic products.
